Throwing the bouquet?

I am using real flowers at my wedding and I honestly do not want to throw my bouquet because I want to preserve it and I do not want it getting messed up. I want to hold the tradition of throwing the bouquet, I just don't want it to be mine. Would it be silly to have a different bouquet made to throw, maybe out of artificial flowers that whoever catches it can take home?

Throwing the bouquet?
From what I've seen at recent weddings, this is something that many brides are doing these days. I don't see why there should be any sort of problem with what you're suggesting.
Reply:absolutely not. go get an identical bouquet made of fake flowers and throw that. it's ur day, you should be able to keep ur flowers
Reply:Typically, the bride has a second bouquet known as the "tossing bouquet" It's for the very reason you stated. The bride wants to save her original bouquet.
Reply:The florist will make you a small throwaway bouquet - you don't actually throw your own bouquet.
Reply:you're supposed to throw a different bouquet...as far as i know...
Reply:I am doing that too!!! I want to keep my own and I am getting one made identical to the natural one. Go for it!!
Reply:They've been making throw away bouquets since before I got married 14 years ago.
Reply:Go for it. But don't use fake flowers; if they really wanted fake ones they could go to Michael's and buy their own.
Reply:Yes, a fake bouquet made with artificial flowers is the norm. Plus, the bouquet is more likely to survive the toss if it is fake.
Reply:that's what i'm doin so why not?
Reply:your wedding do what you want and no it is not silly i think it's smart
Reply:it's actually quite common to throw a different, smaller bouquet. you can have the florist make a smaller one that is similar to yours, or you can buy flowers and make your own. either way, it's normal.
Reply:many people get a smaller bouquet to throw, so its less expensive and they still have theirs to keep.
Reply:good idea many woman are doing that
Reply:Ive seen it done before. A smaller less fancy bouquet being thrown.

Also, I saw in a recent weeding, a different procedure for the bouquet. They asked all the married couples to the dance floor to dance a slow song. The MC asked that all the people married for less than 12 hr to sit. Then those married less than a yr, then less than 5, then less than 10...and so on and so on. Until there is only one couple left. That couple gets the bouquet, and the MC asks whats "the secret."

At the wedding I saw this done, my aunt and uncle won, by 5 yrs. They have been married 51 yrs. When asked about "the secret" to a happy marriage, my aunt said "Be very patient". When my uncle was asked the same question, he answered "Whatever she says!" :)
Reply:My daughter used a tossing bouquet, with a twist. It was actually 2 smaller bouquets made to look like 1, so when she threw it, they came apart. Watching all those girls scramble and the momentary confusion was priceless!
