Sunflower Wedding Ideas?

My friend is having a wedding in May and she wants me to take care of all the flowers in her wedding. She told me that her colors are blue and yellow. She knows that she wants sunflowers as the focal point in all the flower arrangements(bouquets,centerpieces,corsa... She wants all silk or artificial flowers. Does anyone have any ideas on what kinds of blue flowers will go with the sunflowers? Really need help with this one. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks

Sunflower Wedding Ideas?
I think cornflowers would look really cute with sunflowers! http://www.photographyblog.com/gallery/d...

They have a similar shape, and I think they'd compliment each other nicely.

These arrangements are also really pretty - I think they might be bluebells? - http://www.hardygardening.com/images/sun...

Reply:Instead of placing sunflowers with blue flowers in each arrangement, have you considered only using sunflowers (and perhaps white flowers) then placing a blue ribbon around the vase or bottom of the container? That would be one way to incorporate blue into the arrangement without having to add it to the bouquet. Or you could place the sunflowers inside of a blue glass vase to incorporate blue.
Reply:Forget me nots are a very understated flower that can add just a splash of color without overpowering the sunflowers. She should consider though just getting sunflowers and tying them together ina raw bundle with ribbon in the color of the dresses wrapped around the stems since blues can often be hard to match.
Reply:Cornflowers are a good idea -- they are the same general shape as sunflowers, but not as bold. You can also try perhaps blue gerbera daisies, which would be a little larger, or even mini blue daisies. Good luck on choosing your flowers!
Reply:What kind of blue? The best bet will be to go to Michaels (or other shop with silk flowers), and see what's there. Since Sunflowers are so solid, I would have only 1 per bridesmaid bouquet, with 3-slender blue flower sprays off to one side only (think tear-drop shape, but with the tip pointing up, off-midline). For the bride's bouquet, this could then be the traditional circle-shape bouquet, with 5-6 sunflowers, interspersed with blue and yellow flower sprays between for filler. Centerpieces - use 3 sunflowers, with a filler in the middle and out to the sides (think pyramid shape).
