I am planning a Gerbera daisy wedding. My colors are pink and orange. I read that certain colors of gerbera daisies bloom at certain times of the year and I was wondering when pink and orange daisies bloom and if they would be ready in time for a june 21st wedding. and also I was wondering if they aren't ready and i decide to use artificial flowers where is a good place i can get pink and orange gerbera daisies without them looking too fake? if you know what I mean. I would really appericate the help. and any ideas for favors or decorations would really help too. Thanks
Gerbera Daisy Wedding Help Please!?!?!?!?!?!?
My friend used orange and pink gerbera daisies and her wedding was the first weekend of July, so you should be fine. Most flowers are grown in green houses anyways (I think). I would recommend not using fake daisies. They normally look quite fake and you don't need to use many of the daisies because they are quite large.
Congrats %26amp; Good luck.
Also, if you're really worried about it, contact a local florist and ask them, they should know the answer.
Reply:Yes, they will be available to you at that date. Go to the link I posted and it will tell you all about any flower you want to know about. theknot is great!!
Reply:You have to check with the florists in your city. They will know availability.
I had this problem with calla lillies - always wanted them, but the florist couldn't guarantee them for our July wedding.
Reply:If you check out sams club.com they have all colors of the gerbera daisies and they are sooo cheap. Granted you have to buy a membership..but if you knwo of anyone that has one its a great investment.
Reply:They should definitely be ready by that date - we have gerbera daisies in our front yard since they're my favorite. But if you're worried about it, Thrifty Florist usually sells these super cute fake ones that would work great too. If you don't have one of those nearby you can also find fake gerberas online at http://www.afloral.com/Silk-Flowers-Arti... in all different colors.
Sounds like a really cute theme, here's some pictures I found that should give you some ideas for decorations and favors and some other things too!

For bridesmaid dresses, this cool site lets you design your own and pick the color, and your bright pink and orange are options they give.

Reply:Hi and congratulations!
I love gerberas myself! I don't think there should be a problem with those colors by June for fresh flowers. Again, I think you will be fine, but if you need artificial, check out places like Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Save-on-Crafts (internet site). Although, I really think the silk gerberas look really fake. Just my opinion though. Call the florist that you want to use and ask them this question (about specific colors). They are more than happy to answer your questions!
One note about gerberas....something I read and also witnessed. Do NOT use them for boutonnieres. Gerberas do not hold up well once cut and out of water. I was at a wedding this summer and they had gerbera boutonnieres and they were really wilted after only a few hours!
Reply:I used Gerbera daisies for my May 17 wedding. All colors were available via my florist.
