What indoor plants would grow well without a lot of light or drainage?

I have this half wall made of brick in my (interior) hallway. It is about a foot wide. The previous owners hollowed it out and fitted it with a tin box--they had artificial flowers in it but I don't care for artificial. It doesn't get much sunlight--I would take suggestions besides plants, rocks or something maybe. Thanks!
